Performance Award Received from Economic Development Administration

The Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced that the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority has qualified for an EDA planning performance award in the amount of $1,000. The award will be used to further the business plan for the Ravalli Entrepreneruship Center (REC).
Planning performance awards are given in recognition of outstanding collaboration and effectiveness in the planning phase of a project. This is the second year EDA has named planning performance award recipients.
Ravalli County earned an award for its business plan created with strong local collaboration and attention to following the, Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Building on the region’s bio-medical cluster, including the Rocky Mountain Laboratory of the National Institute of Health, the business plan will provide for an entrepreneurship center in Hamilton, Montana, to encourage the creation and growth of small businesses and industries.

RCEDA would like to recognize and thank HIP Inc. (Human Interactive Products), the consultant team RCEDA contracted with to develop the award winning business plan.
Development of the plan took over a year and included several local focus groups. Throughout the process the RCEDA Board an staff and HIP Inc stayed very focused on serving our community and working with the >Economic Gardening concept in mind.

On February 5, 2008, The Hamilton City Counsel approved the OCR3 lift station, public infrastructure, necessary for the continued advancement of the Ravalli Entrepreneurship Center.
